Get over the fact that the Moto Guzzi California 1400 is a cruiser and there’s actually a lot of neat motorcycle stuff going on here. “Details make the motorcycle,” says its designer, Miguel Galluzzi. The California is the first all-new Guzzi to benefit from his tenure as Piaggio group’s VP of Design.
In this view, for instance, we see the “Moto Guzzi” text that’s been silk-screen printed on the brushed aluminum valve cover, which then tucks neatly under the side of the steel fuel tank. The Guzzi eagle is cast in chrome, nestling under the white pin stripping tht then flows through the seat. This is motorcycle as art.
This is one case where I feel I can’t really do better than the press release at explaining this bike to you. There’s some language hiccups, but it’s worth taking the time to read, a lot of passion and history and technology have gone into the California. It’s kinda exhausting to think how much.
