This year is much like last year. There are only three rules:

1) Make the most from the least.

2) Entry must run and be rideable.

3) Display a level of creativity and ingenuity in design, function or construction.

And anyone can enter for just $25, which gets you a free Deus T-shirt that would probably retail for $50.

In addition, this year there is a pro/invitational category, a race bike (as opposed to street bike) category, and a special category for sub-125cc bikes.

One of the coolest aspects of the 2015 Venice event was the custom mini cafe racer built by a kid who won't be able to ride it on the street for about 5 years yet.

, I built a Bosozoku Japanese motorcycle gang style 1979 Honda CM400. My bike got an honorable mention, literally, as there was no ribbon or trophy for 4th or 5th place just a mention. They did like it enough that they asked me to let it live in the shop for the next month.

After the regional events at your local Deus shop, the top five bikes go into global online people's choice voting. I have no clue how I fared in that because for some reason the winner was never announced. I doubt I will enter this year, but I have been thinking of building a first generation GSXR flat tracker, hmmm...

It really tied the room together

The Venice event this year takes place on Saturday, September 24th, from 3pm until 9pm. There will likely be a party with refreshments, bands, DJs and plenty of bikes to ogle. The Deus Emporium of Postmodern Activities is at 1001 Venice Blvd, Venice CA 90291. For more information, or to enter, click over to their web site here: Deus BB0 2016 Entry
