Meet Grip-Lock: The Pocket-Sized Motorcycle Anti-Theft Device
Say hello to Grip-Lock—the small, light, portable, easy to use theft deterrent system from New Zealand—and say goodbye to other clunkier deterrent systems.
Grip-Lock is a light, simple, easy to carry, and effective anti-theft device
The motorcycling world is constantly looking for new ways to protect our two-wheeled treasures from pesky thieves. Some ideas are better than others, but a new offering from a New Zealand-based outfit has introduced an anti-theft device that is simple, easy to use, easy to carry, and most importantly, effective.
KARMA IN ACTION: Bike thief injured after crashing stolen scoot
The Grip-Lock is small, lightweight, easy to carry, and refreshingly straight forward. To use, you simply attach it to the right handlebar and lock both the throttle and front-brake lever in place. It features four hardened steel cores encased in a reinforced nylon body which protects it from corrosion and makes it one tough nut to crack for thieves. Applying or removing the device reportedly takes less than ten seconds, and it comes with a ten year warranty.
WHY ANTITHEFT DEVICES MATTER: Motorcycle thefts on the rise
Obviously Grip-Lock won’t prevent someone from tossing your bike into the back of a truck or van, but as far as simple theft deterrents go, Grip-Lock is pretty solid. Grip-Lock is almost guaranteed to match your bike as it comes in a total of nine different color options, and by adjusting to different grip widths and brake-lever positions, the Grip-Lock is a one size fits all offering. Also, unlike disc-locks, there’s no chance of forgetting the device is attached.

Ultimately if someone wants to steal a locked motorcycle, it’s just a matter of time, effort, and having the right tools. That said, the name of the game when it comes to motorcycle theft deterrent is to make your stealing your bike so much of a headache that the thief moves on to other, easier-to-steal options.
At just $65, Grip-Lock is as easy on your wallet as it is to use. You can click here to order your own Grip-Lock off Amazon, or click here to learn more about the device on the Grip-Lock website.
