A Wallace and Gromit Motorcycle and Sidecar Lego Set? Sign Us Up
How do you transform claymation characters into LEGO brick form? It originated as a LEGO Ideas entry from a fan who used the roundest bricks possible.
If you're both a LEGO and a motorbike fan, chances are excellent that you already know there are several kits that already exist, bringing a variety of two-wheelers to life in colorful plastic brick form. From Ducati to BMW to Harley-Davidson to Vespa, there are modern delights to please a good cross-section of riders.
And now, there's one more to add to the movie motorcycle bucket, which you can set up right next to your Batcycle if you like. In a weird way, this one almost seems more difficult than some of the other bikes that have so far been recreated in LEGO form, and that's because it's the sidecar motorbike out of Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave.
You might think an animated feature would give a little more wiggle room when trying to bring it to life in toy form. However, since the Wallace and Gromit universe is entirely wrought in clay, that brings an added challenge to using LEGOs as your building material. Aardman Animation, the folks who created the Wallace and Gromit universe, have a very particular (and very round) design ethos for everything in this universe, and it's practically a symphony of rounded edges.

Which, even the casual LEGO fans will have noticed, those bricks usually are not. Still, Sébastien Esnault, the Fan Designer who submitted this winning LEGO Ideas design to the company's '90s Throwback - The Next Chapter challenge, said he just used the roundest pieces he could find to craft what he wanted to see.
From there, LEGO Model Designers Tom Gerardin and Ellen Bowley took Esnault's concept version and turned it into a viable set design. If you simply can't resist the whimsy of building and having this adorable sidecar in your collection, you can now preorder it directly from the LEGO store. The MSRP is US $99.99, and it's scheduled to ship out to preorder customers on October 1, 2026.
