Honda Graces Its Rebel 500 With The E-Clutch In Europe. But That's Not The Only New Feature
Check out that shiny new 3.5-inch TFT display that now sits proudly front and center on the handlebars!
Remember when Honda said that it's planning to roll out its innovative E-Clutch system to more models throughout its lineup? Well, if you're a fan of the Rebel 500, and you live in Europe, today is your lucky day. The 2027 Honda Rebel 500 update announcement just went out, and that middleweight Rebel is the next bike in Honda's lineup to find the E-Clutch added for the coming model year.
That's not the only new feature to be found on the 2027 Rebel 500, though; and also, there's more than just a couple of new paint colors and some updated graphics to set these bikes apart. For anyone who'd been wishing for a brighter, clearer display on the middleweight Rebel, you can rest easy. The 2027 Rebel 500 is getting a brand-new, circular, 3.5-inch TFT display, and it appears to be quite bright and easy to read. Take a look.
While that's the most immediately visible change to the rider experience that Honda has made, there are a few more updates to be aware of, as well. The left handlebar gets a new control cluster (presumably to go along with the implementation of the E-Clutch).
If you wished for a little more comfort in the saddle of a previous year Rebel 500, Honda says it's now upgraded the foam in the seat to a new urethane version, and says that it's now more comfortable for everyday riding. Additionally, the pillion pad and the rear footpegs are easy to remove, so you can switch from solo riding to two-up riding in a snap.
Riders in Europe can choose between two trim levels: the regular Rebel 500 and the S version. Opt for the S version, and it comes fitted with a special headlight cowl from the factory, as well as a smoked flyscreen, fork covers and gaiters, a special brown diamond-stitch saddle, and some sweet-looking bronze wheels.
Two new colors have also been added to the 2027 Honda Rebel 500 lineup; one for the regular version, and one for the S. The 2027 Honda Rebel 500 comes in your choice of the new Mat Fresco Brown, like so.
Choose to go with the S version instead, and you can add a color called Candy Rosy Red to your shopping list if you like it bright, like I do. Both trim levels also still come in Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic, if you'd prefer.
Additional accessory packs (Comfort, Travel, and Style) are available to spec from the factory on your new 2027 Honda Rebel 500, as you choose. Pricing has yet to be announced for the 2027 Honda Rebel 500 E-Clutch in Europe, but the previous 2025 model started at £5,799 (about US $7,674 at the time of writing) in the UK, so expect a starting price that isn't too far off from that.
