American Honda Motor Company issued a stop sale notice on certain 2023 through 2025 Honda Fury motorcycles and certain 2024 through 2025 Honda Shadow motorcycles. The issue relates to a fuel pump manufacturing defect on a batch of units from a supplier. Only specific production ranges of each model are affected.

According to American Honda, approximately 4,206 total motorcycles (consisting of 820 Fury and 3,386 Shadow models) are believed to potentially be impacted by this recall. This represents about 1% of the population. The affected Furies were produced between March 28, 2023 and March 12, 2025, while the affected Shadows were produced between March 24, 2023 and January 17, 2025. Honda notes that it has corrected this process in production as of September 9, 2026.

Chronology of the issue traced some warranty claims starting in 2024 back to a specific batch of fuel pumps, where some of the equipment used to process the fuel pumps on the assembly line had degraded. This introduced the possibility of unwanted material fragments getting into places they shouldn't, leading to a potential chain reaction of events that could result in carbon powder forming a conductive bridge, leading to heating and melting of componentry, accelerated wear, possible loss of electrical continuity, and in a worst-case scenario, a fuel pump that suddenly stops working.

If the fuel pump does not work, it could cause the bike to either stall unexpectedly, or else not start at all. This could, in turn, increase the risk of a crash and/or injury to the rider. As of September 24, 2026, Honda reports receiving 48 separate warranty claims related to this issue, but zero reports of injuries or deaths.

Honda notified its dealer network about this issue on September 25, 2026, at which time it issued a Stop Sale notification to its dealers for all new and used bikes affected by this recall. The service bulletin regarding this issue notes that the replacement parts were unavailable at the time the bulletin was sent out. Parts for some of the affected Shadows are expected to become available in November 2026, while parts for the remaining Shadows are expected to become available in January 2027. Finally, parts for the affected Furies are expected to become available in April 2027.
