Look At This Cool, Limited-Edition Yamaha That Costs Exactly The Same As The Normal One
Yamaha Thailand is only releasing 100 of these special R15Ms with Monster Black liveries, but it's a bargain!
Here at RideApart, we've told you about more than a few special, limited-edition motorcycles over time. And usually, whenever we tell you that something is limited edition, you automatically know to expect that the price will probably be a bit more than whatever the normal price for the standard version of that thing might be.
Also, you know that the lower the number is in the amount of limited edition things that are planned to be made, typically the greater the difference in price between the regular and the limited versions.
Yamaha Thailand is here to turn that line of thinking on its head, though. You see, it just announced a shiny new limited-edition 2026 Yamaha R15M livery, which it's calling Monster Black. It is, of course, not difficult to understand why this livery has received this name when you see it. Take a look.
As this image states, only 100 will be available for customers to purchase in Thailand, so the implication is that if you want one of these, you'd best move quickly. The normal colorway for the 2026 version is a perfectly nice red and white, but if you really want that Monster Black and nothing else will do, then time is of the essence. If you want the normal Yamaha Blue colorway, you can just get the R15 and forego the M if you choose.
But here's where Yamaha Thailand makes it interesting. Normally, you see words like "limited edition" or "special edition" and you think there's going to be some type of premium price involved, right? Not here. For the 2026 Yamaha R15M, Yamaha Thailand's recommended price is just ฿ 138,700, which works out to about US $4,129 at the time of writing. That's whether you choose the Monster Black limited edition, or you opt for the more sedate red and white normal version.
Either way, you get the same 155cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. Seat height is a fairly approachable 815mm, it gets a six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch, LED lighting as standard, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Traction control and ABS are also standard, and Bluetooth connectivity via Yamaha's Y-Connect app is also standard.
Be aware that the fine print says that prices are subject to change, but you're probably used to that if you've ever dealt with dealers before. If you're interested in the Yamaha R15M Monster Black edition, and you're in Thailand, it might be a good idea to stop in to your local dealer and check it out. Or just gaze longingly from afar if you're not there.
